Several clients desire a road map and strategy on how to deploy technologies such as Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Performance Point, Office Communicator or other Microsoft Collaboration Technologies.  To address these desires, ThoughtBridge has created an engagement that leverages our Interactive Thought Sessions to gather high level requirements of collaboration and communication for an organization.

The overall goal is to provide our clients with a strategy and vision on how to transform unstructured information and file sharing tools into an all encompassing, daily use information sharing tool that will improve communication, collaboration and knowledge management throughout the organization.  Supporting that vision will include a governance strategy to foster adoption and awareness with control and support for the solution going forward.

The deliverables from the Visioneering workshop are organized into four major categories:

  • Solution and definition: A vision of the solution in terms of features and functionality, both now and going forward, for end users and who those end users are.
  • Architecture:  A high level vision for the hardware and software architecture that can support the solution going forward.
  • Governance:  A three faceted vision to provide awareness, administration and maintenance for the purposes of adoption, control and stability.
  • Organizational Impacts:  A summary of the organizational impacts and risks of implementing Microsoft technology.

Having a shared vision for a solution in a corporation is imperative for the team’s success in implementing that solution.  The deliverables of the Visioneering engagement document will initiate the process of a shared vision as well as assist the organization in understanding the impacts of implementing Microsoft technologies.
